Weld Lab Supervisor

What you will doThis individual will oversee the Company Weld Lab.
  • The Weld Lab Supervisor trains and certifies new and existing Welders for ASME Code positions.
  • Works with QA to ensure that welding standards are maintained and enhanced.
  • Develops and administers weld tests required for UAW Welders to obtain necessary weld certifications.
  • Supports training and on-going qualifications of all weld personnel.
  • Critical for manufacturing of pressure related products, meeting of applicable codes such as ASME and piping. These compliances are required in order to sell related product lines.
How you will do it
  • Develops new and innovative weld methods to be used within the fabrication of JCI-Waynesboro products.
  • Administers weld certification testing for UAW employees.
  • Conducts pre-employment Weld Tests for applicants.
  • Monitors training/certification progress, creates reports/evaluations, establish routine review meetings with trainees, UAW committee, supervisor of target area for employee and C. I. Manager, designed to facilitate success whenever possible.
  • Maintain continuity amongst all active JCI-Waynesboro weld personnel.
  • Manage consumables required for the weld lab to function.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing prints as required.
  • Supports High Performance Teams (HPT) across areas of responsibility.
  • Supports and mentors in related aspects of JCMS.
  • Ensures Employees adhere to the Company Safety Policy, PPE Requirements and injury reporting protocol.
  • Adheres to the Company s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Standards.
  • It is typical for the noise level in the work environment to be high. Noise and dirt generated from functions such as grinding, hammering metal and welding.

What we look for
  • Associates Degree from college or technical school and three to six years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
  • Previous experience as a lead or supervisor is desirable.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
